Ellie joins the library

Saturday morning I took Ellie into Aylesbury, where she took part in a Roald Dahl parade – local schools walked with paintings and models they had made from the books.

Hannah and Matthews wedding 07

Ellie ws walking with her ‘best friend’. Afterwards I took her to the library, and she joined and got her own library ticket. She took out two books, and finished them both by this morning, and wanted to go and change them, and was disappointed to be told that the library was closed on a Sunday. Her one disappointment with the library was that it wasn’t as quiet as she expected.

The wedding Tricia was catering for went very well.  So, she is relieved that it is over and was complimented on the food.

Off to an evening of music and fireworks shortly.

  1. Welcome to the world of the book addict Ellie.  Katie is refusing to let me near WH Smith until their 3 for 2 on all books offer is over.  I think she must be under orders from her dad.

  2. She loves books – Nikki and Robbie have never shown an interest, so I am savouring the fact that we both enjoy reading. I found myself in Waterstones on Saturday morning. Only 3 books purchased. A Kate Atkinson novel, Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier, and a reference book. But it could have been so many more…

  3. Ooh which Kate Atkinson?  I really want her new one but I’ve promised not to buy any more books until I’ve read the ones I’ve got.  However were it to come into the shop then that would be okay as I’d be giving to charity wouldn’t I?

  4. The Kate Atkinson is called One Good Turn. I probably won’t read until August when I am on hols.
Haven’t seen the film of Rebecca, but will probably look out for it after I have read the book.
