Bits and Pieces

Nikki has been told that she has won a prize at school for her Biology work over the last year. So, whilst she has actually left, we are all going across to the school tomorrow for the end of year prize giving.

Robbies band, Blood Red Sky have recorded a couple of tracks, which can be found on their myspace site. Here is the link for those interested.

Beware. For those of a quiet musical disposition it may not suit. Further, the track called Cursed has a ‘naughty’ word in it. Robbie is playing the drums, and for a group of 15 year olds I think they do quite well.

Ellie is in the doghouse. She didn’t shut the freezer door properly after getting herslf an ice cream. No sweets or ice creams for a week was the penalty incurred. And a week is a long time for a 7 year old.

Have been listening to The Pretenders ‘The Singles’ album, which has been a trip down memory lane. Being a cheapskate I am recording from the original vinyl, and converting to an mp3 track so I can ipod it. Why would I want to pay for the music again ?

  1. Oh dear yes we’ve been down the open freezer door road a couple of times in the past and as ours in the garage several hours have usually elapsed before it’s been noticed    I think the penalty will do the trick and make Ellie remember in future though. My pair are probably sick of me reminding them to make sure the door is closed EVERY time they ask if they can have ice-cream but that works too.
That’s some drum kit Robbie has in the photo.  I have a feeling life in your house must be noisy at times.  My apologies to the band but I don’t think they’ll be going on ipod. However I will pass the link onto the two members of the household who will undoubtedly appreciate it more.
Congratulations to Nikki.  I’m sure it will be nice for her to go back and see everytime one last time as well.

  2. I can relate to the open freezer door thing, too…although mine was on the refrigerator… I returned home after a weekend away to find that everything in my fridge had gone bad and the door was open about an inch. It was so frustrating having to toss everything out and then go shopping again. Never did find out if it was Ryan or me that left it open, but at that point it didn’t matter…. so now I’m crazy OCD about checking it all the time!
Congrats to Nikki — can she come and tutor my son?!
