Three updates to the blog in one day. Very unusual. Today was A Level results day in England. Nikki had been offered a place at Hertfordshire university, doing Physiotherapy, conditional on getting 3 B grades at A Level. Results were out at 11am but Nikki was working this morning so didn’t get to get her results until 1:30pm. Unfortunately she had 2 B’s and a C. To say she was ‘in bits’ would be an understatement. There were tears of disappointment. Particularly because one of her B’s was a few marks short of an A, and the C a few marks short of a B.
After calming down I suggested that she looked at the UCAS web site anyway and see what was posted there – as she was close, there was still a chance, albeit a small one she may get the place after all. So, she signed on – and there it was ‘congratulations, place confirmed’. Nikki hurriedly went to the phone and called admissions, and they confirmed she had a place. So, then we had tears of joy and relief.
Nikki will start uni at the end of September.
Ellie is pleased as she tells us she is having Nikki’s room!
Yay! Congrats on the happy ending!!
So glad that it has all worked out happily. Well done Nikki
