An odd day. Robbie was off to Germany this morning. He has gone out for 10 days, as part of a student exchange. So with Nikki at uni, the house is quite empty.

Ginger the cat, who gets called Ninja now, instead of Ginger, came back last night with a gash on his side. So he was in for an op at the vets this morning, where he has had the wound cleaned and stitched. He had another cut near the major one, and the vet seems to think he has caught himself on some barbed wire or similar. So he now has a collar on, which he hates, and spends most of his time walking backwards, and doesn’t know what to do with himself.

A few weeks back Nikki went for an assessment for rowing potential – this was part of a talent search for the 2012 olympics. They have written back saying they think she would be good at sprint kayaking.  She has a further assessment in a few weeks time in Nottingham.
