Frustration…

The blooming snow is still here. In fact we had another fall yesterday that caused chaos.

Tricia and Nikki came back from NY with colds, and I now have a stinking cold.

So, I feel under the weather, I can’t get out, and I am getting frustrated with not being able to get on with normal life.

This blog will be resumed when I am in a happier frame of mind.

Snow. Lots of it.

Well the forecasters were spot on. They said we would get a good few inches of snow last night, and we certainly did. I was in Stockley Park near Heathrow during the day yesterday, and got home (via Tesco for provisions) just as the snow started. We had about 6 inches…

Fortunately I can work from home.. so I did. School closures meant that Robbie and Ellie were at home as well, a ‘snow day’. Ellie played in the snow, and Robbie disappeared about 9:30, and we haven’t seen him since! Apparantly at his mates, where he stayed for dinner. I cleared the path, and had a little walk up the village. Tricia took some photo’s…

Snow Jan 09 001 Snow Jan 09 008 Snow Jan 09 019

With all this cold weather, Tricia and I have agreed this evening that we will go to Southwold in Suffolk for our summer hols….the thought of warm days ahead keeps us all going. Me, I am working from home tomorrow, and we have already had a call to say Ellies school will be closed. The silly thing is, there is no real problem getting to the school. I remember as a 7 or 8 year old walking into school because the buses couldn’t run in the snow. The whole attitude was different. Then people wouldn’t let the weather get in the way of what needed to be done. Now it seems the easy option is the preferred one. I will work from home tomorrow, because I can I suppose, which is fortunate for me.

Some more pics from the ladies trip to the Big Apple. The ‘senior’ ladies, Wendy, Tracey, Deb and Tricia.

Return of the Jet Set

International jet setters, Tricia and Nikki returned from their trip to the Big Apple this morning. Both a little jaded from a long day and not a lot of sleep. However, they gave us a few pressies and told us about their trip before crashing out for a few hours. Seems like they had a great time. Some of their piccies. Nikki is the one with the multi coloured hat… can’t miss her !

New York New Year 023 New York New Year 068 New York New Year 070 New York New Year 086 New York New Year 090

You can see from the last one how thrilled Nikki was to be coming home… not.

Back to work for me tomorrow. . Christmas and New Year never quite seems as relaxing as you think it will be. Still, I need to crack on with 2010, I have a whole tranche of resolutions to pursue !

Happy New Year

A pretty quiet New Year. Robbie was at his mates, Zak, most of NY Eve during the day. Then in the evening he went around to Alex’s for the evening, where he saw in the NY and stayed over. Ellie and I went up to some friends in the village for the evening and saw the NY in with them. Ellie was desperate to stay up and see the NY in. Shortly after midnight we came home, Ellie went to bed, and I watched some of the Hootenany (Jools Holland), before going to bed myself.

A text from New York woke me at 5am… seems like the girls were having a good time! We had a quiet day at home New Years day.
