Well the forecasters were spot on. They said we would get a good few inches of snow last night, and we certainly did. I was in Stockley Park near Heathrow during the day yesterday, and got home (via Tesco for provisions) just as the snow started. We had about 6 inches…
Fortunately I can work from home.. so I did. School closures meant that Robbie and Ellie were at home as well, a ‘snow day’. Ellie played in the snow, and Robbie disappeared about 9:30, and we haven’t seen him since! Apparantly at his mates, where he stayed for dinner. I cleared the path, and had a little walk up the village. Tricia took some photo’s…
With all this cold weather, Tricia and I have agreed this evening that we will go to Southwold in Suffolk for our summer hols….the thought of warm days ahead keeps us all going. Me, I am working from home tomorrow, and we have already had a call to say Ellies school will be closed. The silly thing is, there is no real problem getting to the school. I remember as a 7 or 8 year old walking into school because the buses couldn’t run in the snow. The whole attitude was different. Then people wouldn’t let the weather get in the way of what needed to be done. Now it seems the easy option is the preferred one. I will work from home tomorrow, because I can I suppose, which is fortunate for me.
Some more pics from the ladies trip to the Big Apple. The ‘senior’ ladies, Wendy, Tracey, Deb and Tricia.
