This coming week sees the local amdram production take place. This year I am not in it, but directing / producing it. So I seem to have all my spare time consumed by making sure everything is going well. Stage is set, scenery in place, and Robbie was busy painting it on Saturday. Ellie has a walk on part and so we can say the McSweeney’s are well and truly involved. It is going well on stage, we have had a few sticky rehearsals, but it is coming together. I will be glad when Sunday is here though so that I can get some time back ![]()
Nikki and Robbie went off to London yesterday afternoon to see some bands play at a rock venue. I took them across and dropped them at the railway station. I agreed that they would call me when they were about 20 minutes away from Aylesbury and I would come and pick them up. It had been a long day, and so I fell asleep in the chair wiating for them to call. The phone rang about half past midnight… and they had missed the last train. Grrr. After a brief call examining other travel options, which were pretty much already stopped, I had little alternative but to drive to London and pick them up from Baker St. I got back with them just after 3am. It would be fair to say I was not happy. ![]()
Tricia let me sleep in this morning, and so when I woke at 10:10, I had missed church. I had wanted to go, to offer a prayer for a gentleman called Ewart Dancer. Ewart had lived in North Marston all his life, and was a retired farmer. He had been a warden at the church for as long as anybody could remember and was a pleasure to talk to. Unfortunately Ewart had a stroke and passed away on Friday morning. It was unexpected because at 84 he was quite spritely and active. A little piece of the village died with him. RIP Ewart, heaven has just gained on of the good guys.
I have been keeping up my present fitness regime. I swam four times this week, 50 lengths on Monday and Tuesday, 60 on Thursday and Friday. Then on Saturday I did a 6.5 mile walk, and in fact jogged part of it. So, doing well.
Well, a busy week ahead, both at work and at home, so signinmg off for now.
