Sunday was Robbies 21st… a landmark date many years ago. These days 18 is the new 21, but nonetheless it still gets celebrated. At about 6:50am Robbie turned 21. We flew the Western Prussian flag for Robbie at home. Then Tricia, Ellie and myself set off to Northampton to see him. We went to a Polish restaurant with Robbie and his two uni friends, Jordan and Veronika. I have to say I particularly liked the beetroot soup…. after lunch we went back to Rob’s house for cake, some champagne, cards etc. A few pics… First off, the flag flying, then a picture of Robbies cake – which of course has a Prussian eagle on it – and then Rob himself in the restaurant.

Then we have one of Robbie as a baby
, one in the restaurant of Rob, Jordan and Veronika, and one of Robbie about blowing out his candles!

On Saturday Ellie and I went to see West Ham play… Ellie has been wanting to go and see a game for a while now, and keeps reminding me… so I booked two tickets for us to see West Ham v Newcastle. I allowed plenty of time, intending to drive down to the M25, around to J27, then into London on the M11, parking at Barking and taking a few tube stops into Upton Park…. However, when on the M25 we found that M25 was closed between J25 and J27. So, I came off onto the A1, intending to go and get on the north circular… but it seems everybody else was diverting as well. So, the car was parked at High Barnet station, and we went onto the tube, changing at Camden, then onto Bank where we picked up the DLR to Canning Town, switching to get to West Ham, then onto the District Line for two stops to Upton Park…. and we ended up missing the first 10 minutes. It was chaotic, parts of the underground were shit for the weekend for ‘maintenance’.. oh well. The game wasn’t a good one, 0-0, not particularly exciting…. we then had to reverse the journey… this time we jumped on a bus to Canning town to avoid the tube, as the queue was never ending. We finally got home….. cream crackered. Here we have a picture of Ellie inside Upton Park, then one of the ground from where we were sitting… and finally a picture of Tricia in her usual evening pose… on the settee with a couple of cats sat on her!

Today Tricia spent the day in the garden enjoying the sun, and clearing some parts. I spent most of the day at rehearsals. Two run throughs. I know all my words… but remembering them all when I need to. Strewth. Two rehearsals left, then first performance Thursday night…. It will be a long week.
