The last post I was able to recover was from July 21st, which reported on Robbie’s graduation. Due to a number of hostorical artefacts from 2013, which is in the main the family calendar I am able to report on the main events I missed since then. At the begining of August we had a family wedding. Tricia’s brother David was marrying Manda. Trish was determined her brother would get married. Dave and Manda had intended to get married this year, but in Dec 2012 they said they would have to postpone it indefinately as they couldn’t afford it. Step in the big sister. We arranged for the use of the paddock next door, organised the marquee, Tricia planned to provide the wedding food, and some for the evening do, which was at the village hall, which Tricia had booked, and with a disco that Tricia had booked. When Tricia makes her mind up on something, it is akin to a force of nature. Unfortunately Nikki was away for the wedding, she was at a training camp in Switzerland. But on Saturday August 3rd we went to Aylesbury for the wedding, before coming back to North Marston for the reception. The day went well, and apart from a brief shower, the weather was good. In the evening they all partied hard…. The day after the wedding was hard work, taking everything down, putting it all away, and washing up etc. We collapsed in the armchair with a cup of tea and piece of cake, and then had a surprise visit from our old friend Big John, who was in our neck of the woods and decided to drop in.
Some photographs of the day. David and Manda after wedding, Dave making his speech, Dave and his two big sisters, and one of ‘Thompson’ family with other halves…
The week following the wedding gave us a chance to draw breath, and start thinking about the holiday… which we were looking forward to, a trip for Tricia, Ellie and me to Verona. Robbie was staying at home, he was a working man now, plying his trade at BGO as a 2D artist.
Anyway the holiday in Verona will be covered in August 2013 part 2…. which will be up in a few days.
