Well, Spamalot far exceeded my expectations. It was on at the Palace Theatre where Les Mis ran for a long period. You couldn’t have two more contrasting musicals. I have always been a bit of a Python fan, and so expected to enjoy it, but the spoofing of other musicals, and the whole presentation was superb.
Trish has never really understood Pythonesque humour, but even she was laughing loudly and enjoyed it, so I would say you don’t necessarily have to be a Python fan to enjoy.
Rehearsal this afternoon, and back to work tomorrow
As we are doing a performance on Friday, which is comic relief day, I am going to try and convince the group we should donate some of the door takings to comic relief.
I wasn’t allowed to watch the Monty Python series as a kid, as it was disapproved of in our house, So what in your opinion was your favorite Python film then? Mine was “The Holy Grail” and I’ve got it on digital media and have been known to watch it frequently.
EEK!
Definately Grail for me. I have introduced Robbie to Python, and he spends far too much time looking at old Python clips on YouTube.
I prefer Life of Brian. Funny and excellent piece of satire
