I spent quite a long period of Sunday preparing myself. Background on the organisation, recent results and achievements, challenges etc. I went through all the accountabilities for the role, and listed a number of thoughts / questions to raise during the interview. I went over my cv to make sure it was fresh in my mind. I wore a new suit, looked smart and was punctual. I was thoroughly prepared.

Or so I thought. One of the first things I was asked was ‘has the interview structure been explained to you’…. er, no. The agency had given me no specific interview instructions. The whole interview was supposed to be based around the ‘behaviourial competencies’ of the role as defined by the organisation. So I wasn’t as prepared as I wanted to be. I didn’t do too badly, but we will see. I am one of 6 being looked at for the role. This will be shortened to 2 or 3 for next week.

Popped in to see my Mum and Dad last night, it was good to catch up with them, I hadn’t seen them for a while.
