1st Sunday of Advent

We marked the first Sunday in Advent in our usual family way. Tricia and Robbie went out on an expedition to acquire holly, and then Tricia made up an advent wreath, with the four candles for each of the Sundays leading up to Christmas. We lit the first one at tea time, when we sat and had a family tea together. Nikki wasn’t there, but we all thought of her. She has two weeks left before she finishes for Christmas.

The door on the dishwasher now has a problem. The spring which would allow the door a gradual descent has broken, hence when you open it, it nearly takes your kneecaps off. Oh well.

Off to work in a while. I had a phone call last night to tell me of some system problems over the weekend. Great, I would rather be ignorant of them until Monday, but some people are keen to spread work news even at weekends.

Off to Hull later this week. The company has a large Christmas party on Thursday evening which I will attend. I can’t say I am looking forward to going up to Hull, but I can console myself that it is one of the last times, and I am certainly not going up there again before Christmas.

  1. Oh my goodness!  Thank you for reminding me.  We were out most of yesterday and I completely forgot to set up our candles.  We’ll have to have a slightly tardy lighting of candle number 1 tonight.
Enjoy the party.  I will be at the Rural one on the same evening.
