Things keep breaking…

So far this year it has been necessary to replace the Tumble Dryer, the Washing Machine, the Dishwasher… Tricia’s car needed replacing. At the end of last year we had only just replaced the oven… So it was no surprise when the Sky box stopped working at the end of last week, and the iron broke down in the week… A man from Sky came out and replaced the broken box, and we can now watch tele in full again. I went and brought a new iron this morning. But I do wonder what will break next… seems only a matter of time to the next thing.

Last Sunday afternoon I had to drive across to a place called Wyboston Lakes the other side of Bedford, to attend a course on ‘Information Security Management’… it was a long week. One day was 11 hours in the class room… my brain began to melt ! I was glad to get home at the end of the week. On the Sunday afternoon Tricia, Robbie and Ellie went to see the new Hunger Games film. I am not a fan myself, but it would have been better than Information Security Management.

Tricia went to see Yvonne during the week, and as usual with a visit to Market Harboro’ went into far too many shops… Yvonne is not a good influence! Nikki was competing in her next Europa Cup races on Friday and Saturday. She came 8th both days. A more ‘technical track’ than Igls, there wasn’t a full field competing, so she did well considering this was only her second competition just to compete. Nikki now moves onto Canada where she is pushing in a World Cup race. On Wednesday evening Ellie went with Pat to see the new Paddington movie… she said it was brilliant… Ellie has been selected to be Snow White in the school panto… she keeps dressing up in her costume. All she needs is 6 more dwarves (doesn’t need a Grumpy, there is one living here already)… I was going to say we have an evil queen as well, but that might get me in trouble.

Why do I always say ‘Yes’…. I read somewhere recently that you should say ‘no, so that when you say ‘yes’ it is more valued… anyway, when asked to look at an issue a friend was having with her wifi / broadband recently I said ‘yes’… and what should have been a 10 minute job, ended up being 90 minutes on Friday evening, and 2 hours on Saturday morning. Still, it is done now…

So, on Saturday after sorting out the wifi, it was back home, and Ellie and I manned Tricia’s table at the North Marston Xmas Bazaar… Tricia was at Whitchurch with a table there. We did quite well, Tricia was pleased with her sales. We then went across to Waddesdon to see the Christmas light display, and the Christmas market. It was blooming cold! The highlight was a duck burger with plum sauce :-)…

Today has been a relatively quiet day… I dropped Robbie off at Aylesbury station this morning. He was meeting Jess in London, and they were off doing Xmas shopping. I then did a few bits in Aylesbury…. like buying a new iron… Tricia and Ellie went to church, and then collected Ninja… who had gone walkabout to his favourite farm again. This afternoon Tricia put the Xmas garlands up around the fireplace. The tree outside is lit up… but the Xmas tree in the house can wait a few weeks.

The highlight of the day though was …. West Ham 3 Swansea 1. West Ham are now in 3rd place in the Premier League. Yes… 3rd place !! It won’t last, I know…. but I intend to enjoy it whilst I can :-)…

Robbie has got himself some new armour. I am not really sure what to say any more…
